Simon EK is a UK based DJ who’s uplifting and energetic sets have seen him grace the decks across the UK and internationally. His introduction to dance music began in the mid nineties, listening to old Ministry of Sound tapes and the Essential Selection on Radio One, building a knowledge and understanding of dance music as a whole and refining acute ear for quality tracks which can be heard in his sets today. He notes some of his influences as MK, Dennis Ferrer, Axwell, Mark Knight, Eric Prydz, Noir, The Shapeshifters, Manuel De La Mare, Frankie Knuckles, The Martinez Brothers, Jim Shaft Ryan, Maya Jane Coles, Eric Morillo, Orbital, Carl Cox, Sasha, Louie Vega, DJ Sneak, K-Klass, David Penn, The Revenge and many more! Simon’s big break came in 2009 when he was asked to become resident for the legendary club brand Miss Moneypenny’s, touring up and down the country on a regular basis. Gig highlights include Nylon in Curitiba - Brazil, Pacha London, Gatecrasher Birmingham, Godskitchen, Brothel and the Rainbow venues. The ‘EK’ style is broad, encompassing a cross section of house from deep and groovy through to a more uplifting peak time sound, regularly creating special edits to take his sets to the next level!
