Jim Shaft Ryan here it has been a while since my last post, my apologies, will endeavour to get back on this blogging malarky. Joined by Dave Hinett we had the priveldge of musically entertainig the beautiful people of Pacha Moscow.What a brilliant club and what a fantastic crowd. Vlad was our host at the club who catered for our every need. He excitedly displayed a photo on his iphone of his days in Ibiza as part of the Miss Moneypenny’s dancing troupe. One of those very glamouros group photos with those exoctic performers, and Lee Garrick at the helm. By the way Lee Vlad sends his regards. I got on the decks around 130, I always find the hanging around before my sets a little frustration I just want to get on with the job. By the time I got on the club was in full swing. I decided to go from a funky vocally start, peaking with a tuffer electronic sound. My set had the desired effect when I finished at 415 I was quite overpowered by the intesity of the atmosphere, very satisfying nights work. Dave spent the evening with my new camcorder getting lots of footage of the beauitful crowd and the magnificent dancers. He promises to have an edited version on the site in the next week. My gratitude goes out to all the Pacha staff, especially Vlad and Katherine for making Miss Moneypennys at Pacha Moscow such a memorable gig. Iam really looking forward to my next visit.

It was a cold winters night minus 2 degrees for Miss Moneypennys returned to the Wankdorf in Berne Switzerland for the third gig of 2008 on Boxing Day to a full club of up for it glamorous party people.

The party was fuelled with impressive DJ performances from Jim ‘Shaft’ Ryan, playing cool mixture of house and electronica, DJ Fab mixing an uplifting vocal set and Jay Dee Thomas playing a tuff blend of groovey house.

The Berne crowd are now very familar with the Miss Moneypennys sound and respond enthusiastically with a massive applause at the end of the night.

What made the night special was a visit from Miss Moneypenny’s friend the legendary DJ Mr Mike for a drink and appreciative boogie with the Moneypenny’s posse a tribute to another brilliant party at the Swiss capital.

Just catching the connecting flight from Sydney to London after 5 brilliant days in Melbourne thanks to John and Dale from Fluidlife in Melbourne.
As soon as we landed in Melbourne, for the next two days we were shown the Melbourne nightlife which was unbelievable, the pace was furious. Saturday a live 2 hour show on Melbounres dance station Kiss FM. I was feeling very delicate after the over indulgence of the previous two evenings proceedings but I got through focusing on a very soulful groove.

I played a set at the Beach Hotel on Saturday evening to friends of John & Dale who were celebrating Ambers birthday. I was joined on the decks with the very smooth Jason S.

Sunday November 30th was the day of the party at the brilliant The Point in Albert Park a very unique venue with a large terrace on the banks of a lake with the beautiful Melbourne skyline as a back drop.
I can honestly say the crowd was one of the best I have seen at a party for a long time. Very glamorous, exceptionally dressed girls and very cool guys, who were well up for letting their hair down in true Miss Moneypennys style. I djed from 5:30 - 7:30 in the afternoon and everyone responded brilliantly to my music.

I was accompanied by Miss P on vocals who had the crowd in the palm of her hands and Steve on saxophone who was exceptional.
It is always refreshing and very energising when you finish a party that overwhelms with the positive attitude of the crowd. Melbourne’s party crowd are truly one of the best and I relish the prospect of djing and bringing Moneypennys back there very soon.

A sincere thanks to John and Dale (Fluidlife) for their incredible hospitality these guys are true legends and finally thanks to the brilliant crowd the talented artists djs and new friends I have made in Melbourne. Maximum Respect Jim Shaft Ryan

On friday 17th I played my first gig of the weekend at the brilliant empire in middlesborough, what a gig. The music policy was uplifting house music and they were given exactly wanted. Straight from the boro, myself and Jeff Jefferson, who was my accomplice for the weekend, drove down to stansted airportn listening to a very disco fused essential mix from calvin harris. We were both feeling very jaded, as we knew the trip to switzerland was going to be full on and we were on the road from 9 pm Friday. We were up for the challenge.

We landed hotel, shower change of clothes and straight out for the journey to the brilliant wankdorf in Switzerland’s capital Berne. I got the back seat and crashed out, Jeff and DJ Fab discussed new tunes. We dropped off the decoration at the club and went for dinner were Fab told us a very funny story about Jay Dee Thomas feeding him black beans, supposedly a Black Country delicousy.

We will investigate that in due course. We returned to the club to a very full glamorous crowd over 2000 people. Jeff took to the decks at midnight and smashed it DJ Fab took over and had the crowd eating out of his hands and I finished off with a tuff funky groove that sent everyone home thoroughly satisfied.

With Jeff Jefferson dancing on the platform next to the DJ booth, I have have never seen him seen let Jeff going so crazy. A brilliant night with a 100 Lucky clubbers getting a free copy of Miss Moneypennys summer compilation A Glamorous Taste Of Ibiza, roll on our return to Wandorf on Boxing Night.

Its saturday night and me (Dave), Jeff and Jim are at the House & Terrace, Greenwich, London. This club is fantastic  - 1500 capacity over two floors and a terrace that needs to be seen, the crowd is smart, stylish, sexy and up for it…open untill 6am (If only Birmingham had a venue like this) this is one club Miss Moneypenny’s will be coming back to x

Shanghai Nightclub 13.06.08 - After being delayed at Birmingham airporrt for over an hour I am finally in my swanky hotel. The rooms at the le monde hotel are all the named after citys all around the world. I’m staying in Reykjavik tonight and what a room this is, large tv, leather chairs and a great view of the city. If you come to Edinburgh this is the only place to stay. Bar, restaurant and club all in one building. Well I’m off now to eat and rock the socks off these well up for it jocks
